Is the Office of Graduate Admissions open?

The Office of Graduate Admissions is operating remotely for now, but you can still connect with Admissions staff Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. via the "contact us" live chat, or by email (gradadm@umsl.edu). Applications, transcripts, and supporting documents are still being processed, and admissions decisions are still being made. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!

How can I contact the Office of Graduate Admissions?

You can contact admissions staff Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. via the"contact us" live chat, or by email (gradadm@umsl.edu).


  • What if my institution is closed and I can’t get an official transcript? You can be admitted based on an unofficial transcript; however, you will need to provide an official transcript within your first semester of enrollment at UMSL.

  • I am an international student (current/future visa holder).  How do I apply? You will apply through International Admissions.  The office is operating remotely for now, but applications, transcripts and supporting documents are still being processed, and admissions decisions are still being made.  You reach International Admissions via email (intadmission@umsl.edu.)  Virtual Admissions Advising appointments are available Monday through Friday, 9am -8pm, Central Standard Time.  Register for an appointment at https://apply.umsl.edu/portal/global-virtual-visit.

 

 

  • I can’t take the GRE or GMAT. How will this affect my admission? Graduate Program Directors will evaluate these situations on a case by case basis and will communicate with the student with regards to admission.

 

  • Will I recieve my admissions decision in the mail? You will receive your admissions decision via email at the email used to apply to UMSL.
  • I understand courses are being taught remotely for the spring and summer terms, but will I be able to take classes on campus in the fall? At present, UMSL plans to hold courses normally in fall, both on campus and online

 

  • Will there be any changes to student loans for graduate students for 2020-2021? There will be no changes to student loans for graduate students for 2020-2021.

 

  • Will there be a New Graduate Student Orientation for Fall? Yes! There will be both an online New Graduate Student Orientation and an in-person New Graduate Student Orientation on campus in early August.
